How Become Formally Hired as a Home Health Caregiver??

...So, I just recently finished my CNA last month and think I finally found a very promising opportunity. I am also currently in Nursing school (aspire to ultimately work in pediatrics) so I have been searching meticulously for Pediatric caregiver jobs (I also currently work with children in a teaching capacity--5 years experience) as well as Geriatric. I found a position that sounds great. The mother is very interested in hiring me. Her child is moderately autistic, needs help with hygiene and ADLs, needs to be given medications periodically, follows a special diet, and supervised constantly (issues with Pica--eating non-food items.)

The position was listed under the special needs caregiver portion of the site but also includes babysitting/light housekeeping of course, but does not specify being a CNA necessarily (although I mentioned that I was certified). How do you become formally hired as a home health caregiver?? (to meet the requirements for your license--mine will expire at the very end of 2015). Do you speak with the employer to have you formally hired with a title of CNA? Is that enough to fufill the requirements without working for a specific agency? Sorry if I sound completely moronic! This is an independent family--willing to compensate very well for the right person, so I would really appreciate any clarification before meeting with her, so I don't seem completely ridiculous! =) Thank you so much in advanced!
