How to balance family and work when working afternoons

Published

I've been an LPN for 3 years now and have been fortunate enough to have worked steady daylight. I just accepted a position working 2:30-11:00 PM. I have a 6 year old and am worried about balancing my work and my time with her. I'm fortunate to have a reliable sitter to get her off the bus and get her ready for bed but I'm concerned how my time away will affect her. I took the new position because it's a much better pay rate. Any suggestions apppreciated.

During the school year, you will only see her when you are sending her off to school and on your days off.

Only you know if the increase in salary is worth that.

Specializes in hospice.
