Thank you all ahead of time especially during these unprecedented times. I will be moving to Houston soon and can’t wait, will be a night shifter. I was wondering if you knew of some nice places to rent a safe apartment not too far from TMC? I was looking at Pearland and Memorial City areas, are they pretty cool? Thank you all again. Best regards

Hi! Nobody has replied to this thread, it seems. Pearland will be a better spot than Memorial City. Traffic from Memorial City to the Medical Center can be a headache. I think a good area to look in is West University or Midtown. West University is very upper-class and has lots of nice neighborhoods. Midtown (the area right under 45S that goes around downtown) is also close to the Medical Center.
Not a nurse, but a Houstonian. Hope this helps!

From personal experience (I go to school in the TMC), the apartment complex Greenbriar Park is in the TMC, very safe and gated, fairly affordable for the area, mostly renovated, and is a short 5 minute walk to the Metro rail line. It's a 15-20 minute walk to the bulk of the hospitals too. I probably wouldn't want to walk around at night, but during shift change times it is crowded with people. Lots of medical professionals live in this area and walk. I know it's not in Pearland or Memorial City, but it's definitely an easy alternative if you want to save time commuting!

Sorry I couldn't reply to you DM a while back! I'm new on the website and need 15 posts for DM access ? I was at TWU for my BSN, but UT is an excellent option for graduate programs as well! All I know for TWU is FNP or women's health NP, as well as nursing ED or management. How was the apartment search if you don't mind me asking?
