Houston Nurse Residency Winter/Spring 2024

Hi everyone! I will be graduating with my BSN this semester and I'm applying for residencies in the Houston area. I already applied to Houston Methodist but wanted to hear about other programs that might be interesting. Best of luck!

I think they begin interviewing tomorrow. Last semester I interviewed with them (did not get offer) and was not given the option to interview with another unit. But it might not hurt to ask the recruiter.

If you don't mind me asking, what unit did you apply too? And did they send a reject letter? Or email and if so how long did it take to get it?

I applied to CICU. I received the official rejection email approximately 2-3 weeks after the interview. But knew I did not get the job way before then, once everyone was posting their offers received.

I know two others that got rejection emails for NICU after interviewing so not sure how to feel about it LOL if anyone gets offers please let us know! Just to have an idea of where in the process everything is

To those who Interviewed for Methodist West - NICU, did anyone get an offer? I asked and they were only taking 1 new grad for the unit

Do you have any tips for the interview and were the questions hard? Also did you have to do a shadow shift too? If so, was it more like a tour or an actual shift similar to clinical? Sorry for all the questions just trying to find out more about the interview process ?

So I'm not quite understanding this. The hospitals require a residency but do not supply enough new grad positions? What are we supposed to do with our new license?
