Hello all!
Scrolling through dozens of posts I have yet to see one for HBU Fall 2017, so I figured I would start one. I am in the process of completing my application and just wanted to see if anyone else is on the same boat. I am an external student transferring. The following are my stats:
Overall GPA: 3.5 (Courses still in progress)
Science GPA: 4.0
Overall HESI score: 88.4%
- Critical thinking: 880
Also, if any current or previous HBU students scroll on by, any insight would be helpful. I have heard mixed things about the HBU nursing program.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE :-)!

Hi! I am also in the process of applying, last stage pretty much. I'm just waiting to hear back from Julio to set up an appointment to apply for the actual program itself. I'm currently enrolled at HCC and taking a Literature class to take care of the ENGL 2000 pre-requisite. I have one other class that they require for graduation from the program, but it was too late and the semester had already started by the time I looked for classes. Otherwise, I'm core complete. Stats are:
Overall GPA: 3.8
Overall HESI: 90, CT 890
Glad to finally find a forum! I have posted on the Spring '17 forum, but I just told myself I would create one if I didn't find one for the Fall! Best of luck!
Awesome stats! I actually just went the other day to finish the final step and submit the application. Now we wait, which is the most nerve wrecking part! lol. Good luck to you!!

Hey future nurses! I applied for Fall 2017 as well. I met with the nursing advisor the week before spring break to turn in my application. It was my first time visiting HBU, other than the information session, and I just love the feel of the school. Everyone there (advisors, secretaries, security, ETC) is so pleasant. I really hope I am accepted. I have an undergrad in Biology from UHD (gpa 3.6) my prerequisite gpa is 3.8. my HESI was 89.6 with critical thinking at 960. Good luck to you all! God bless you and guide you all.

Has anyone heard back from HBU yet? I applied there but haven't heard back yet, I am hoping that we will know by the end of next week!
Hey! I haven't heard anything either, but when I went in to sign my paperwork and things, I was told the deadline was pushed to March 20 and that I should expect to wait between 6-8 weeks from then... HOPEFULLY we start hearing sooner, but 6-8 weeks would be early to mid May...
I was reading other forums from past classes and they said that they received their decisions like a month and a few days after the deadline for applications. So I'm thinking no later than the end of April.
I meant to reply that same day, but life got busy. Anyway, I called my school advisor and she was able to speak with Julio (pre-nursing advisor). According to him, we should expect to hear something around mid-May, and that we would notified (conditional acceptance) through the email that the school has on file. So, as I said above, 6-8 weeks from the application deadline
Hi all,
Just a quick update, I have received my letter of acceptance to the HBU nursing program. However, I will be declining due to my acceptance at a different school. Good luck everyone!
Hiya,
I got my acceptance letter (via email) yesterday morning and accepted my spot in the program, as well as paid my deposit! Hope to meet any and all of you who decide to attend HBU during orientation!
