Housing, whats included?

Having not yet started traveling, I was just curious, what is included in housing when it is provided by an agency. If it is "fully" furnished does that include furniture only, does it have any of the following:

Appliances

microwave

anything to cook with in the cabinets

linens

etc.

Thanks for any info you can provide. I think for easiness I will take company housing for my first assignment. Then I may venture into finding my own following that.

Corporate housing includes linens, housewares, dishes, and cookware and may or may not include W/D. Standard agency housing may come with a built in microwave, furnished, utilities (with possible exception of internet) and may or may not include W/D.

But really, the details don't matter. It all comes out of your pay. As a result, many travelers take the housing stipend in lieu of provided housing. Anything left over is yours to bank or spend.

I took agency housing for my first two assignments and was provided with the bare minimum- a bed, dresser, bedside table, couch, chair, coffee table, TV stand, dining table, and four chairs. Everything else was up to me- including a microwave.

I was able to make a good deal during my first assignment. They were unable to secure housing at the start of my contract, so I was put in a hotel and told that if they should find housing, I would be supplied with linens and housewares in addition to the usual furnishings. Turns out their vendor didn't have housewares and linens, so my agency reimbursed my expenses for those items! I have three totes with everything I need for housing- all at no expense to me!

It depends on the company and the assignment.

When I was on assignment in Manhattan (in the city), I was provided with furniture, utensils, microwave and linens. In Florida, I was provided with just the furniture.

Thanks for the info guys, like I said eventually I will look into finding my own housing but for the first assignment I think I will let the agency find it for me. Less stress for the first assignment. Thanks
