What do other house sups do with their down time when you have it at work? It has been really slow at my hospital and I am bored to tears. For that matter what do you do other than problem solve and staffing when it is busy? I think I'm in the wrong position and need to move onto something else.

I never heard of a house super not having enough to do.  Can you do some online training in order to set yourself up for another job?  I wish I had your problem.

If it were me I would be very happy to help floor nurses when I have finished my work.  Even restocking, cleaning things that don't get cleaned often, like pill crushers.  Making sure staff have enough of what they need to do their jobs.  IDK.

I used to have to divert the desk phone to my mobile phone to go to the bathroom!  What is downtime??

I suppose it depends on the hospital, type, ED, elective day surgery fails as well as the 30 million other things I used to have to deal with including authorisation of out of hours maintenance issues....first port of call the AHHM for a blocked toilet!
