36 hour vs 24 hour position- first nursing job advice needed

Published

Hello! I am weighing a few new grad nursing opportunities. I currently work as a PCA and have been offered a 24 hour position on my unit. I also potentially have a 36 hour position offer at a different hospital. My current unit says even though its 24 hour position there are always opportunities to pick up more, but obviously I know this isn't guaranteed because its a 24 hour position. Thoughts? 36 will guarantee me more pay, but would 24 with ability to pick up give me more flexibility? Or should I not trust that I can "always pick up". This is my first nursing job so would love advice from others!
