Two lessons here for you:

2) You have already challenged your boss's authority on two occasions, and she has begun to CYA (or CHA) by attributing this to your professional inadequacy. Do not tell this person anything you don't need to tell her. You can't trust or count on her. DON'T bother to try to "straighten her thinking out" or clarify your comments. Just do your job and let it go.
