I'm so excited I got a 4.0 in both Physiology and Pharmacology for the summer semester!! But unfortunately I am still on the alternate list for the nursing program for Fall/Spring - not enough people dropped their spots for me to get in. So who knows what I am going to do for a whole another year - I have no pre-reqs or co-reqs left to do.

:balloons: Great Job! Congrats! What school are you attending? When your an Alt. how does that work? I am curious because my friends husband was an alt. for this coming session and when I asked him how it works he said "I don't know." Do you know what you will be taking this fall yet?

I am an alternate at Lansing Community College. They picked about 35 people as alternates and we are all ranked on a list so if any of the 64 people from fall or the 64 from spring give up their seat then they call people from the alternate list.
I have no clue what I am going to take for the fall. I have all of the pre-reqs and co-reqs done for the LCC and most of the community college programs I have looked at. I have a previous BS degree from Michigan State so I am starting to look into what I need for the 2nd degree programs at some schools. I really didn't want to do a 2nd degree BSN program due to the cost and not being able to work since it is so fast paced but that will probably be the quickest route to go for me now.

I'm in the same boat. My pre-req's are done and I anticipate starting NS in January. I went ahead and checked into my BSN stuff. I was surprised to see how much more I need (besides NS and pre req's) just to be admitted to the BSN program. Stats, a second Soc class, an art class, a history element required by the state of CA and a couple of others. So those are all things I'm doing this fall. Also my NS recommends Med. Term., even though it isn't required. They say without it you have a lot more work to do, so that's something you can look into as well. I'm taking that one too. Good luck to you!

we are in the same boat. I am helping teach the A&P II class to keep some of my skills up. Maybe you could tutor for some extra money and keep things fresh??

This is exactly what I did while waiting. The wait was frustrating, but at least I felt like I was making progress. Now, when I'm ready to go into an RN-BSN program I will most likely alredy have everything that is required.
Congratulations to you, Anna! It's a great feeling (not to mention a GPA boost!) when your hard work pays off.

Good job on those grades, it means you have a great understanding in the material. One thing I wish I knew how to do before the nursing program is skill type thing like blood pressure, assessments. You can always look into a medical assisting course or my friend did an EMTcourse in case she didnt get into nursing. Also make sure you looki into other school alround your area, maybe somewhere take people more than once a year.
