Hi,
I am interested in finding a nursing association that is dedicated to nurses that work in homecare. Most of the associations I have found are geared toward administration. Does anyone belong to Homecare Nurse Assoc? Is it worth the membership fee? I also work in critical care and I belong to the AACN. So I guess I'm looking for something like that for homecare nurses.
thanks:)

I belong to the Homecare Nurses Association and I feel that it benefits me well. It looks good on a resume for starters, but I think the real benefit is the publications. I am also a member of the International Home Care Nurses Organization as well as my state chapter of ANA and the federal organization. Funny thing is that I'm not really much of a joiner or clubber. You'd never know it to look at my list.
thanks for your response. I'm looking for an association that I can get involved in at the state level. I'm not really interested in the ANA as I want an organization dedicated to Home care.
I don't think the Homecare Nurses Association has anything local. I haven't seen much of anything from them at all, outside of the publications, which are worth the membership to me. However, your state nurses association may also have sub-groups, and may have a home care group. Check with them and see what they have at the local level.
thanks,that's a good idea.
I looked at the state ANA but they didn't have anything. I looked at the international home care nurse org and it looks promising but I couldn't find how to join and the cost. Do you remember how much it costs? Thanks
Join LinkedIn and search for the group. There's no cost, but there's not much happening, either.
