Typical day and salary for Psychiatric HH Nurse

Specialties Home Health

Hi guys, I would just like to find out about a typical day for a psychiatric home health nurse and the pay range for this position. I know the pay varies, I just need an approximate range. Also, how much education further than a the basic ADN degree does one need for this type of work? Thanks a bunch!!

Here in OK I was offered 45K for psych home health. Didn't take the job as vacation and benefits were minimal, and the pay was 6K lower than what I was already making...so I can't tell you what it's like. They offered me the job, though, and I only have an ADN with experience in psych.

My mother just started as a psych home health nurse and she is being paid 49,000/year. She has a basic ADN degree and 7 years of experience in psych nursing. Hope that helps!

Our psych nurses make approx 45 a year...they see anywhere from 4 or 5 patients a day. The travel is usually in a larger area, since it is more specialized, so seeing 6 would be exteme. Keep in mind, if she has a admit or post hosp or a sick it acts as 2 visits.
