suggestions for PDA ebook on meds

Hi, i am looking for a med book to download onto my Pocket PC PDA. I have seen a few that look interesting, but i have read some of the reviews that they are hard to update and that you need a subscription to keep it unlocked on your PDA. I dont have a lot of expertise in this area, but have found my PDA to be a great time and space saver. I need an updated med book, and would love some suggestions and or links to any programs that you have found helpful.

thanks

Epocrates has a free basic medication E-book with free updates. It is not as extensive as the Pro verison but it is free. F.A. Davis has a comprehensive med book. I have both on my PDA. I prefer the layout and ease of use with the Davis. It was definitely worth the price.

Davis' Drug Guide is a great reference, and keeping it updated is just as easy as keeping your anti-virus protection updated. A couple of clicks and voila! Syscape.com sells a number of references including Davis' Drug Guide. With their products you also get a program called smartUpdate that will automatically check for and download updates (if you agree), making it that much easier. Yes you are paying for a subscription, but new updates are available every couple of weeks or so.

Davis' Drug Guide whether in print or on PDA has a number of very useful features in their drug monographs including: herbal products, the time/action profile, implementation (which includes how much and what IVF to mix some drugs in), as well as nsg dx, evaluation, etc. The PDA version has a variety of indexes to look up drugs including: main, generic, brand, therapeutic, natural, combination, etc. There is also an alphabetized table of contents, but I find the indexes more useful.

PDA's are great - I couldn't imagine school w/o mine!

I use Davis' Drug Guide, too. I also use PocketConsult Mosby 2005 IV Meds. I get most of my software from Skyscape.com. I have the drug books, Tabers Med dictionary, a procedure manual, nrsg dx guide, diagnostic test reference & not to mention docs of important notes from class. Lugging around 50# of reference books - I'll pass!
