Home Health Care or Hospice.... Any ideas?

Hi all! New to allnurses.com but I needed some advice and hope Ga nurses can help!

I have 1.5 years experience in a small town hospital medical-surgical unit. Because of the hospital size I have learned and experienced A LOT, but I feel like its time for a change. Although I have applied to bigger medical-surgical units in the metro area, I'm also interested in Home Health and Hospice work, but I don't know much about local (Marietta to Cumming) home health agencies.

Any feedback (good and bad) would be helpful! Thank you in advance ;)

Try the major companies like Maxim Healthcare, Amedysis, Pediatric Service of America, and Bayada. You just might have a strong chance at getting hired since you have medsurg experience. I do know that Maxim and Bayada are looking for LPN's and RN's with peds experience; PSA deals strictly with children. All want you to have peds and vent experience. The peds home health market is REALLY big here in the Atl-metro area and the jobs are plentiful; but if you dont have peds experience, they will respectfully turn you down. I know bc it keeps happening to me.:crying2::banghead:

Oh! Also try VistaCare and Odyssey Hospice. One of them has an open full time position in Athens.
