Hiring Freezes?

Published

Anyone have any experience with hiring freezes lately? My husband recently had a job offer letter in hand to transfer within his company, and then everything has been stalled. First it was a week postponement, then 2 to 3 weeks, and now another 2-3 weeks. I think in all it has been two months in limbo with a company wide hiring freeze. Anyone have similar experiences? What happens with the original job offer? Does it get flushed down the commode?

I just got hired at a state psych hospital that had a hiring freeze before I got hired. Anyone that applied and/or interviewed in the process of the freeze were put on hold until afterward but their positions were still available. I was lucky and interviewed right as it was coming to an end and only had to wait 2 weeks.

Hi Grannie,

How long was the hiring freeze? You said the positions were still available? Did the individuals that originally interviewed still have and take the positions? :uhoh3:
