Has anyone found a new job after being fired?
Has anyone listed your previous job where you got fired?
What did you tell your new employer and what did they respond?

Oh my stars and garters. Speaking from personal experience here... If being canned meant the end of a nursing career, there would be a lot fewer working nurses.
IMO, future career directions and options "AC" (after getting canned) depend entirely on the circumstances. If that job loss was due to diverting an entire Pyxis-load of opioids, attempting to hire hit-men to take out that obnoxious administrator, or any other really serious violation of your nurse practice act or criminal activity that jeopardizes a nursing license --- the nursing career may be over. But if it's for more common reasons such as getting cross-wise with your supervisor, violating a policy, etc.... it's not the end.
The best way to recover is to take ownership. Take some time to think about your own contribution to that outcome and figure out how to avoid it in your next job. This is the "lesson learned" that you can share with potential employers when "that" subject comes up in an interview..... and it will. So, when you talk about "it", you can say something like "It was a harsh lesson, but one that taught me to always count to ten and carefully consider the entire situation before responding to an irate family member." That sounds a lot better than "they fired me for sticking up for myself" .
As for trying to hide that job or skipping over it in your application/resume? Don't. It will be uncovered when they do your background check because this process includes jobs connected to your SSN. If you leave it out, it can be interpreted as falsification of job application information.
It will get better.
