Hippa violation in a Med line

  1. I work in a D/A rehab facility. Our med pass uses 2 lines at the same window. Its a really a dutch door and we open the top during med times. There is virtually NO privacy. Each patient can see and more importantly, hear what the guy next to them is asking for. Is this any form of a HIPPA violation? Don't my patients have the right to privacy? Company never willing to make any changes to make it easier for us. A second med window would require construction and having one line would make our med pass take double the time. Any thoughts or knowledge on the subject? Thanks!

You can Google HIPAA and narrow the search down to inadvertent disclosure.
