I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

To be honest , I am stressing getting into the program all together...Mr. Gradius has given me much hope though we shall see.
A Physician assistant makes like 90K-100k a year, its an excellent job! So excited for you.
I currently have a B.A from the University of Central Florida in Legal studies, USF has a good bridge program for people who hold B.A's in different fields, the problem is the $$. It's really expensive, I won't be able to afford it. HCC is my only hope for right now.
Don't limit yourself girl, u got this. Even if u have to take a student loan out, then go for it. U can pay it back in time. Never limit yourself because u won't be happy. If u are happy then u will love going to work. U can work extra hours and the loans off. Don't be afraid of loans, but don't get loan happy either. If u get one, get what u need and use it for school. Some people take loans out and don't consider the fact they will be paying it back. And a 50k loan with only 150 a month payment can turn into a 120k loan with like 400$ payment. I see it happen. Just be responsible with your loans. But u go to school and u work hard, u Care about your grades, and that is a plus right there. Go get a masters and in something u love. Don't let usf high prices scare u off... Go for it .... and thank u btw ?
Hey Gradius..I been meaning to ask you this. If you took higher math besides college do they count those grade or college alg..? also I know you had problem with the fall 2013 app. If you don't mind me asking y didn't you get accepted I know you said non-GPA related..did you try appealing??

Yes a higher math counts. That's exactly why I'm starting Trigonometry this Monday the 5th which I will apply toward my Fall 2015 app, assuming I get an A to override my B in MAC1105. ?
And, my initial nonacceptance was Spring 2013, not Fall 2013. I didn't appeal because a) it put me in a position to apply to an ABSN program nearby in my current city also, (I graduated with my BA a while back now) and b) I started an awesome job which I was in no rush to leave. I applied to Fall 2013 for fun later to "test the waters" but I was waitlisted, which was fine because of my job, and I wound up starting a Graduate program. Fast forward to today, and assuming all goes well, I'm projected to finish my Masters by August 2015 at the latest, but I'm shooting for May 2015. Regardless of which of those dates happen, that is why I can't apply to HCC until the Fall 2015 cycle. That and I live 90 minutes away from Plant City Campus which is 20 miles closer than Dale Mabry, and Plant City offers Nursing I at night for Fall while Dale Mabry does not.
I finished my courses; just waiting on my final grade for AP2. Here are my stats so far:
A&PI=A/A
A&PII=B/A est.
Micro= A/A
SYG=A
Math=A
ENC=A
I'm picking nights/weekends at Dale Mabry.
I have 3 children as a single mom: 17, 11, and 3.
I, too, will be paying out of pocket for nursing school but I find it to be worth it.

Assuming that holds, 3.86. Well done! Look for your Acceptance Letter in September.
