I have decided to start a thread for HCC future nurses that are applying for class beginning 2015 of spring. I would like us all to be able to share and relate to one another, while experiencing this exciting moment. I know it may seem a little early but better sooner then later. This will be my last semester before I can apply to the program. I am registered to take micro with lab and humanities fall 2014. I will be able to submit my application in right after my grades are posted. The deadline for the 2015 spring class is June 1st if I am not mistaken. How is everyone else holding up?

Yes those are my grades. He said he would think about my lab grade because I ended up with an 87.8 he usually gives 1 pt bump...SO I could end up with a B/A.

I actually thought I had the A in lecture (missed it by like 2 pts). I am really sad actually, thank you for the encouragement , but my schedule is very limited because of my 2 year old daughter and my husband's work schedule so I can only do the program Dale Mab Nights/weekends. With a 3.5 I don't think I will get to pick my schedule, to be honest I don't even think I might make it.

Well for what it's worth I had/have a 3.52 and was waitlisted for Fall 2013 where floor GPAs are much higher, so that is one thing, and like I said for Spring 2013 I saw people get in with numbers near that. And I can relate, Nights/Weekends is all I can do too.

September (decision letters) is a long ways away...

Thanks, Gradius

You are giving me hope, your right Sept is a long time away... Just really disappointed right now I thought my GPA was going to end up much, much higher than 3.5 oh well. We shall see.

BTW, I was using an online GPA calculator and it was all wrong it was giving me a 3.6....

Because I'm super nerdy like that, :up:I made my own Excel-based GPA calculator many moons ago. C column * D column = E column. E13/C13 = Final GPA. The math class is bolded since it's the only class that can be changed, if necessary.

OMG So useful!!!!

Thank you Gradius.

Well gradius can u give me my calculations see if im right about my GPA

AP1 B/A

AP2 A/A

MICRO A/A

ALG B

SOCIOLOGY A

ENG A

And thats even if I get an A in micro lecture. I have finals on tuesdays. But acording to my calculations I need at least a 55% on the test to get a 90 in the class....

3.71. I would quite literally be shocked if you weren't admitted.

Question,

Can we change out MAC1105 for Statistics ? I got an A in that class?

Unfortunately no, :bluecry1: so did I. Trigonometry is the next highest class up; I linked to the HCC Health Sciences Handbook that outlines this several pages back on this thread.

Its OK... if anything at orientation u can see if someone will switch with u. Im peronally going for mid days 1pm to 4pm that way if I have a test that day, I can try and study while the kids are in school. I work sundays and will be working fridays and either a Thursday or Monday , it depends on my school schedule. Thabkfully my job is flexible because its a call center.. so im able to change days around. But my hours will be cut sadly because I will have to attend school three days a week. My fiancé works night poor thing just we don't have to pay daycare fees for our 2 year old, and so I can go to class in the days.. the agreement is after school, he will return to school while im working as a nurse and attending usf online BSN program. Or if I get a good job then ill wait for him to finish school and ill prepare myself for a masters program at usf. Either way I will end my career at a masters or as a physician assistant. ... I love surgery. I cant stay away!
