Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.
I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?
What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?
Hey Clemso! Yes, the letter was for HCC. I was an alternate, but now I'm admitted. I can't believe that with a 3.57 I've had to go through the alternate process. Oh well, it's over and I know I'm going to be a nurse in the next couple of years, whether it's through an education via HCC or MTI. My dream would be accepted to SCF (it's right around the corner from me), by my pre-req GPA there is a 3.71GPA and they're only accepting around a 3.8 and higher. I'm still going to apply after I take their nursing entrance exam, but I doubt they'll take me. Oh well. So happy.
thank god, i'm waiting for mine then. i had a 3.57 gpa. but, i did turn my alternate acceptance on april the 4th, because the school was closed from march 28 up to april 3, due to spring break. i did email the hcc nursing department, and i received an email say that's ok, they were extended the deadline until monday april the 4th.
i'm anxious and i can't wait for it tomorrow, it gotta be here in my mail box. did they also assign you a campus assignment too? i'm happy for you eyoung, remember i told you, have faith.
remember, i am an alternate too. i have a 3.57 gpa and i went to hcc and file the appeal and check my gpa also, i asked that counselor, if they didn't make any mistake when it comes my gpa , and she told me, i have a 3.57
A friend of mine, who was an alternate, received her acceptance letter today. Congratulations to all!
I'm a little confused because my letter says that I've been assigned to the Dale Mabry campus (which is what I wanted), but the Confirmation Form is for the South Shore Campus! (?) Hopefully this was a mistake. I'm also confused about the $35. I already sent a check with the last Confirmation Form back in March. I guess I'm going to have to send another email...

Clemson, they assigned me to Southshore, which was where I wanted to be since it's the closest campus to home. Can't wait for you to get your letter too.
So yesterday was great with my letter arriving, but terrible with my relationship. My boyfriend of a year has decided that he's not sure this relationship is what he wants. Jerk. My two year old son adores him and this is what's going to kill me. As far as school goes, my parents are very supportive, so I'll be living with them, working part-time as a CNA and getting my rn. Who needs men when you have a little man who loves his mommy, right?
How long does it take for them to finish the background check? I haven't committed any crimes that I'm aware of! :)

Do you remember if you got an error message popup when submitting your payment for your background check? After I filled out the background check information and submitted my credit card number, the screen froze. So I called them and they looked it up and confirmed that they never received my payment. They walked me through trying to pay online a second time, but I still got an error code screen. They ended up taking my payment information over the phone and it went through with no problems. I received my background check report via email two days later. If it's been more than a couple of days since you sent in your background check request, I would call Edge Information (321) 722-3343. Karla in customer service was very helpful.

I just received an email response from HCC Health Sciences Dept. They said that the letter, which has my name printed on it and the new orientation dates, etc., has the correct campus assignment. So I'm in Dale Mabry! :) The confirmation form that I'm supposed to sign and return has an error on it (Southshore instead of Dale Mabry). So they told me to send in the confirmation form accepting my seat, but I can scratch out "Southshore" and write in "Dale Mabry," which is the correct campus assignment as stated on my letter.
They also said that I do not need to send an additional $35, since I already sent my payment in March.

Thank you! I did receive the error message. I figured that just meant I was a criminal. :) I called and paid over the phone. The woman I spoke with said that it went through, I just figured that I would receive some sort of confirmation via email. You know, didn't even check my acceptance page to make sure that too said Southshore. The letter said Southshore, so hopefully that's correct. I simply checked accept and mailed it this morning. Great.
