Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.
I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?
What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?
I got my campus assignment letter today. I am confused because it is basically the same as the original acceptance letter except it has the campus assignment on it. This letter also requests the $35 fee for the drug test to be sent along with the seat acceptance. Didn't we pay the $35 when we sent in our original acceptance?
I was just about to type up the same thing! I am a little lost on that. But I was assigned to Plant City Night and Weekends. Anyone going to be my classmate??
awww man.... i have to wait or my letter since i've moved to Tampa. ah well. and Eyoung no problem!! good luck on your exam! and i cn't wait for orientation. I went out to the school today to handle my fin aid drama.... hope to hear back from them before the end of June.
HEY ALL!! I received my acceptance letter in the mail today!!! Yay!!! Now I'll have to make a decision about MTI. UGH. Stress!!! I'm so happy though. My self esteem is back up again. :)
Hay Sand, The only requirements are diploma/GED, essay, background check, etc. You'll also have to take the TABE test if you don't have a college degree, plus a nursing entrance exam. No prereqs are required. MTI is in Lakewood Ranch, right off of 75. They're pretty competitive though, because a lot of students who aren't accepted to SCF attend there and then do the bridge program.

A friend of mine, who was an alternate, received her acceptance letter today. Congratulations to all!
I'm a little confused because my letter says that I've been assigned to the Dale Mabry campus (which is what I wanted), but the Confirmation Form is for the South Shore Campus! (?) Hopefully this was a mistake. I'm also confused about the $35. I already sent a check with the last Confirmation Form back in March. I guess I'm going to have to send another email...
Hey Clemso! Yes, the letter was for HCC. I was an alternate, but now I'm admitted. I can't believe that with a 3.57 I've had to go through the alternate process. Oh well, it's over and I know I'm going to be a nurse in the next couple of years, whether it's through an education via HCC or MTI. My dream would be accepted to SCF (it's right around the corner from me), by my pre-req GPA there is a 3.71GPA and they're only accepting around a 3.8 and higher. I'm still going to apply after I take their nursing entrance exam, but I doubt they'll take me. Oh well. So happy.
Congrats EYoung !!!!!! That is fantastic !! From everything you have written I think HCC would be a solid decision and would get you an RN a lot faster. I used to drive from Bradenton not too bad, just get a high MPG car... LOL Are you doing DM or PC at nights ?
BTW I got my letter for Plant City at nights, and of course the new job I just got is about 1/2 mile from the DM campus... can't win. LOL I think the $35 check request is a another mistake. I'm not planning on sending them another one, but they can have a copy of the cancelled check I sent them back in March.
The folks that do the background check send you an e-mail with a link and you log in with your SSN to see the results. From what I understand , HCC has access to look at the background checks.
