Hillsborough Community College Fall 2011

Published

Hello all HCC Fall 2011 hopefuls! I have been following the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 threads and thought maybe it was time to start Fall 2011 now that the application process has started.

I just turned my application in this past week and received my confirmation notice in the mail. Anyone else out there that has turned in their application?

What are your plans over the next 8 months to prepare for the first semester (provided we get in)?

We received the email on April 5.

Here is the email:

Congratulations on your admission into the Nursing Program at Hillsborough Community College for the Fall 2011!

By now you should have received your acceptance letter indicating when orientation for newly accepted students would be. Due to a scheduling conflict, the date of the orientation has been changed. Orientation is scheduled as follows:

Date: Tuesday, June 21 & Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Time: 8:30am to 4:00pm (both days)

Location: Student Services Building Auditorium

If you have further questions, please email [email protected]

Once again congratulations on your accomplishments and welcome to HCC!

Greetings. Just wondering if you received an updated orientation date for the Radiation therapy program at HCC-FL. Do you also know whether or not they are still sending out acceptance letters? If your Hawknet status still says "RAT-Applicant" does this mean, a decision has not been made yet on your acceptance/denial? Any feedback or a contact for follow-up is appreciated.

Hi everyone! Got my acceptance letter 3rd week of March and so did my friend, Ruthie. My GPA was 3.86 but I had alot of credits on my books. LOL

Someone asked me how I was going to prepare and after talking to a first year student, I am rereading my AP manual, going to pick up books as soon as I can to practice doing dosages, get my CPR cert, and trying to read ahead.

Everytime I have heard someone going thru the program, they say it is really intense and hard....BUT THEY LOVE IT!! I have hope. Looking forward to meeting everyone. Congrats.

Hey Everyone, I had a couple of minutes and thought I would let you know that I'm currently a NP1 @ DM. We have one more test and a presentation next week and a final the following. I wanted to be of any assistance so post any questions. I might not be back on until after May 6th, but I plan to help you guys thru the summer if you want. It is very grueling but very rewarding.

i know this question was not addressed to me but i am also a current dm np1 student and thought i would answer for you. you are only required to do one clinical day, you will be assigned your day (one of the two stated day) based on which class you sign up for. this means that each class is assigned a clinical day as a whole so for us dm mornings had clinical on wednesday and dm afternoons had clinical on tuesdays. i know for us we found out which class had which clinical day when we where at out orientation so hopefully you guys will find out then as well. i hope this helped to answer your question. :)

Thanks, Happymomma!! I wish you a " happy Easter" !

I am currently a USF Student snd I applied to their CON and didn't get accepted. I am now in the process of applying to HCC's program for the Spring. I am not sure if I will be considered a transient student or a cross-enrollment. I did not graduate from the university but I do want to take atleast one class during the summer semesters. How exactly do I go about working this out?

Hey guys I also found out that I got accepted to Nova nursing program as well. Now I'm in dilemma of which one to choose...hope u guys could help me. Thanks :-)

i am currently a usf student snd i applied to their con and didn't get accepted. i am now in the process of applying to hcc's program for the spring. i am not sure if i will be considered a transient student or a cross-enrollment. i did not graduate from the university but i do want to take atleast one class during the summer semesters. how exactly do i go about working this out?

i believe anybody can apply at hcc, but you need the following classes; if you're applying for spring 2012, you must have already have those credits from usf, other than that, it's waisting your $ 53.00 and time. summer a starts may 15th and ends somewhere in june 26th, the deadline to apply for spring 2012 is june the 1st, 2011.

enc 1101 (3 credits)

mac 1105 ( 3 credits)

sociology ( 3 credits)

bsc 1085 ( anatomy & physiology i) lecture and labs (4 credits)

bsc 1086 ( anatomy & physiology ii) lecture and labs ( 4 credits)

microbiology ( lecture & labs) ( 4 credits)

total 21 credits

you need to make sure you have at least a 3.712 gpa over 4.00 only on those 6 classes i mentioned above. advice, you need the all of these 21 credits prior to apply for the program.

try apply to be an hcc students, you won't need to take any test (cpt), and then send both your high school and usf transcripts to hcc.

fyi, for this fall 2011, students from 3.512 up to 3.612 were only offered an alternate seat !!!!

i believe, the deadline for the summer, to submit an application to become an hcc student is may the 9th, fanmkreyol
