Can't tell you alot about that particualar area but if it is anything like the rest of the state they are short nurses just like everyone else. Heres a link to one of the hopitals http://www.covenanthealthcare.com/ . And to the other http://www.saintmarys-saginaw.org/. One other thing is alot of nurses here are unionized, and I dont know about these hospitals.
rj:rolleyes:

HI there, Well, both Covenant and ST Marys are in downtown Sagnasty. Which arent the best of areas, so you probably want to look at places more on the outskirts of downtown. More by the mall area than by the hospitals... The hospitals are great and need nurses (I grew up in the area). Hope this helps.

i have done clinicals at both. I would tend to go with Covenant over St Mary's. unless you like open heart pts. then St Mary's is the place for you. if you like babies and peds then covenant is for you. St mary's doesn't do OB and they gave up their peds unit. also St Mary's sends all burn pts (except 20% or less) to U of M. both have flight care so they compete alot. I think St Mary's RNs start out at 19 something an hour. Covenant i think is a little more. If you are a LPN than it is more like 11.50 an hour. as for places to live, I live in genesse county in grand blanc. about a 45 mile drive but there are nicer places further south from saginaw. like birch run. maybe 20 miles or so. i wouldn't live in saginasty (that is what is mostly called now) if you paid me. they are on the news just about every day for murders. a couple of weeks ago a day care provider killed a 6 month old baby. my advice work in their hospitals but live elsewhere
