Hi! What a story i have.. anyways I was a Navy hm for 8 yrs challenged the Cali LVN passed was employed by UCSD. Moved home to Louisiana the BON doesn't acknowldedge anything. JOY! Ready to get back to work where my heart is and am pretty sure EC is my only route as I have 4 small boys at home... Just curious if anyone else went on to EC and what did you get credits for from your SMART transcripts so I can know what prereqs I need, TIA! Oh, I let my license expire so... shame shame one me.... and I LOVE the boards!! Great job!

If you want to go with EC you will need to get your license reinstated. I do not believe you will get your Navy courses accepted unless they were converted to courses on a civilian school transcript. Good luck.

Hi thanks for your response. I qualify for EC on my Navy background alone. I was just curious to see if someone could guide me with how many prereq's I still would have to knock out. Thanks again though.

An EC advisor will give you an idea over the phone and you can get a fairly quick response when you turn your transcripts in for evaluation. I wasn't aware that EC gives credit for service alone. I thought they gave credit for a license obtained based on service in a healthcare occupational specialty. Good for you if you can start the process without a license.

Yep, "military service corpsmen" qualify. It's on the Admission Policy page: https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_College/School_Of_Nursing/School_of_Nursing_Admission_Policy
