HH job market in CA?

So, I'm ready to move back to my home state of CA and I'd like to know how difficult it is right now for an LVN to find a position in home health. As of September, I'll have two years experience in LTC with one resident with a trach (no vents). I'd be moving to the SF Bay Area but would be willing to move up to the Sacramento area.

There are ads for hh nurses in the Bay area, but more ads for the Sacramento area, on the employment websites. Seems to be more than there were some time back (around the time I remember you saying you were leaving!). Some of the ads that I have seen are from agencies that are "new" to me, don't think they have been around long at all, unless they are new incarnations of old agencies. This is just my perception.

Have you been getting regular HH assignments? I know you are in SoCal but I'm interested in your current situation. I'm looking for some hope here!

To be truthful, pickings are slim to none in SoCal, even for those who do well in getting and holding on to cases. Have run into some subpar agencies, the kind that sign you on and then they never have any work. On a long term case, but always look for the time it could end. There is an agency or two that do staffing for hospitals, but they, of course, have requirements, if you want to do that kind of work. Been noticing more up north it seems. But then I am biased to seeing opportunities to return to the Bay area.

The LVN jobs I'm aware of here in No. Ca are for trach-dependent children.
