Aaagh so this is my weekend to work and come to find out we are down 2 RNs on saturday and 5 RNs on sunday and another potential loss (one of my co-workers called me and told me that she wasn't feeling well and may not come this weekend)
First off who did the schedule???
I mean it's supposed to be 11 RNs. Who approved all this time off??
And I don't care how short we are I will refuse to work the trauma bay by myself.
Maybe some managers will come in to take a district and take patients
Maybe the house supervisior will run triage
Maybe they'll float some SICU, PICU, and CCU nurses???? or oh my even the floor nurses *yikes*
Ahhh maybe not, we may have to suffer this alone. Ugh! Would anyone like to pick up some shifts??? lol

At my job if there are no call ins (nurses, med techs, cna's) on all three shifts for the weekend, each shift gets we a pizza party. I understand it's an incentive, but what are we, in middle school? Sad thing is, we haven't had a pizza party in over a year. I absolutely hate coming to work when I know we're working short. I feel your pain.
Thanks. We've worked short before. We really should have 15 RNs on at a time depending on the time of week. I think 11 or 12 is our minimum. Well idk what we're going to do.
