i just took the hesi entrance test for houston community college and i was wondering what most schools min. score (cut-off) was or if anyone knew what hcc's was??? they gave us min. scores for the parts of the test broken down but not as a average. that still doesn't say much b/c even though you may have met the min. requirements that doesn't mean their going to pick you...so hopefully i will get in b/c i met all the requirments they said....but still i was just curious...also, i was wondering... if everyone had to take the hesi then how long is it going to take for them to notify who got in the program or not if it's alreay july?..any info would be greatly appreciated thanks yall...and good luck to everyone!

Sorry, i'm not of much help. Have you looked on their website? Because sometimes the school puts on there what the students minimum scores must be to get in.
My school is different so it probably won't do me any good to tell you.
But just wanted to say Good Luck!

I don't have an answer for you, but was wondering how was the HESI? I am going to take it next month and wondering what I should do in preps for it. The school website had no mention of HESI even being a requirement. It's something they recently added. The only way I found out about it being required was from this website. And our advisors aren't of any help either. Are you applying for Spring 07? If so I am too so we will be in the same confused boat!
Well I am trying to get in for the Fall 06 so that's why i was wondering b/c they need to hurry and send out letters to everyone...they told us not to order the study guide from the HESI website but i did anyways and i thought it helped. It really gave you an idea of the format of the test and how the questions were going to be asked..etc....also, you really should review over your A&P if you haven't taken it in awhile...but ya i just loved how they just started the HESI test at HCC....but at least im over and done with that part i just have to sit back and wait to c if i get in...ahhh so stressful! Good Luck Yall!!!

TexasChic, from what I hear, all you have to make is the minimum score on the HESI test. You MUST have ALL your pre-req's (Comp, Phys, & A&P I are calculated for points) and at least a B in Pharm. You must also have taken the SAT or ACT and THEA.

According to the 2006 - 2007 HCC catalog you must have the following:
Math min: 75, Reading Comprehension: 70, Grammar: 75, A & P: 70,
GPA min: 2.0
Passing TSI (BIOL-2401, ENGL-1301, PSYC-2301, RNSG-1301 with a "C" or better) and complete a pharmacology mathematics test with a grade of 90% or better.

Semi-Fly, try making C's and see if you get in. Every program lists at least a C average, however, it's VERY tough to get in anywhere with that. Also, trust me ALL pre-reqs need to be completed before you get into HCC.
By the way you'll have a math test in EVERY class except for Mental Health. Each test MUST be passed with a 90% or greater.

I was just stating what HCC requires as per their 2006 - 2007 catalog.
Even if I make A's for the remaining prerequisite courses for UTA's program. I will at best have between a 3.73 and a 3.82 GPA overall, and there is no telling if that will be accepted.
