Dont make the same mistake i made on the Hesi

Students HESI

Published

I took the Hesi a week ago! I made an overall 84%! I wasn't too happy about my score, because I studied so much! The test was super easy!! The content wasn't my issue!! I finished Math( in which I made a 92% on that portion), then I started the Reading section......... I think I was on the 5th question. The instructor announces, "1 hour left". I was like really????!! I have to finish reading, and I havent even started grammar & Voc!!!!!!!!!!!! I basically rushed through the rest of the test!

I just want to give everyone else a heads up, so they won't make the same mistake I did! I didn't see a visual timer on my computer (maybe there was one..idk)! We are given 3 hours to complete those 4 sections. I thought that was more than enough time, in which it probably was....... IDK what I was thinking?!?!? Idk why I spent almost an hour plus on 1 section???? I would of preferred an 85% in the Math, with higher percentages in the other sections.

Words of advice:

1. Look at the time before you start. Write it on your scratch sheet of paper.

2. Do the easiest subjects first (at least I believe that will work 4 me)

3. Don't spend too much time on one problem

Good luck!!!

Time was a major reflection in my scores...... Don't make the same mistake I made!!!!!

That's odd that the proctor would verbalize your time remaining like that. I just kept an eye on the time on the computer. It was counting down as I answered the questions. The proctor where I tested was super annoying, though. She kept walking in and out, making all kinds of noise, coughing constantly, and wanding everything metal in sight so it would beep. There were several of us in the room, but we were taking different tests.

I didn't see a timer?? I wasn't thinking about the time, but I could wrote down my start time & I would of known the end time, but I didn't. I thought I was gonna see a timer when I started the exam.
