I'm going for my CNA Certificate this summer to (1) gain working knowledge and (2) earn addtl points toward admittance into my school's nursing program. They only have about 25 slots open for Fall, 2007. I'm hoping to fill one of those slots.
I took Lifespan Psych during minimester, now am taking College Algebra:idea: during first summer semester and will take A&P II during 2nd summer semester. That will only leave Microbiology and Diet and Nutrition for fall. Then I can do PRN CNA work to gain valuable working knowledge, earn a few bucks toward Nursing School and last but not least, make sure this is for me.
How about you?

I have actually thought about doing the same thing. I will have to wait until fall to take the CNA course and take the night classes, so I can have child care...thank godness for mom.
Sounds like a great idea, GOOD LUCK!!

That's a excellent idea! I hadn't thought of that. My plan was to try and volunteer somewhere that relates to the nursing field. I think that would look great on my application and make me kind of stand out from everyone else. Good Luck!

I just finished my CNA class (hope you have a better teacher than I did!:angryfire ) and will be taking my state test the end of this month. I am in Algebra right now, and that is the last of my boring classes. lol I am signed up for chem in the fall...but I am pretty sure I will be applying to get into the fall 08 program. I don't want to cram too much in on the science classes, cause I need to concentrate on the grade.

I think that is a great idea! I was going crazy worrying about getting admited to nursing school. Taking a CNA course is a great way to get ahead.
Thanks for the idea.
Aren't we STBN's smart little beings? BTW, I turned 60 yesterday! You're never to old to try something new.
