For those of you wondering what the HESI is like at HFC im here to tell you. I won't give examples that were straight from the test. I passed and my over all score was an 87.5%
Math: 96%
This was really easy the handouts on the HFC website were very helpful and the elseveir HESI A2 book helped also. It was mainly multiplying, dividing, adding, subtracting fractions and decimals. And finding percentages. When I reviewed for this exam I didn't think there would be a calculator...but there is. So for ex if there is a question that asks what is 32% of 5 all you have to do is plug it into the calculator and that's it!
Handouts - Nursing Assessment Test (NAT) MATH | HFC Learning Lab
Reading Comprehension: 88%
This section was also pretty easy I used the HFC handouts which helped a lot! Make sure you complete all of the handouts. I didn't use the book for this section.
Handouts - Nursing Assessment Test (NAT) ENGLISH | HFC Learning Lab
Grammar: 80%
I scored the lowest in this section. The way I studied for grammar was by memorizing all of the grammar terms in the book such as pronoun, noun, predicate, predicate nominative etc. That didn't help much just review the terms but don't wast your time memorizing them. You mainly need to know adjective, adverb, verb independant, defendant clause etc. Questions consisted of "Choose the word that makes this sentence incorrect." Which wasn't in the book.
Vocab ab and knowledge: 86%
I don't know how I passed this section. Only about 10 of the words in the book were on the test and the rest you would have to use your past knowledge to come up with the correct answer. I guessed a lot in this section. There isn't really a way I would advise you to study. Maybe get familiar with pre fixes.
