Hi everyone,
I am a new grad with about 5 months of surgery experience, and I have been hired into my dream job in the ICU. I know there are existing threads about this but I was not able to find any recent ones. I would appreciate it if anyone would be able to advise me of any helpful textbooks that they used when starting out in the ICU. Particularly pocket ones that I could keep with me on the unit.
Thanks in advance!! :)

The ICU Book. Get a digital copy and load it on your phone.

APPS for your phone are good. Mnemonics, Clinical Sense, Drugs.cm, Breath and Heart Sounds and Clinical Advisor cheap and helpful.

When I was new to the ICU I got a digital copy of the AACN's Critical Care book on my iPad. That way as I came across an interesting case, I could just type the word in the magnifying glass and get right to the section relevant.
Thanks jalorificen1, that is a great tip! :)

Quick Reference to Critical Care by Nancy Diepenbrock. I love that book. I used it so much the first two years out of school that pages fell out and I bought a second copy.
