Help- White Nursing Pants!

Hi, I am going to be starting my clinicals in January and we were told that we need "white uniform pants that are not scrubs, and they cannot be see-through"

Anyone have any suggestions for brands or where to look?? I went to a Medical Uniform store, and all of the non-scub white pants I tried on were sooo see-through, it was ridiculous.

Most of the white pants are most likely going to be see through due to the thin material that is used.

A big helpful hint--do not wear any patterned or colored panties. They will definately show through. Wear white panties-they will blend in with your pants and deflect some of that see through problems.

Although not getting see through white pants is a good idea, they are extremely difficult to come across. White underwear is good advice, but skin colored underwear is even better. Good luck.

The white pants that I bought for school were from a local shop. I believe Landau makes some pants that aren't scrubs and the material is pretty thick. Downside was the (ugh) elastic waistband that was icky tight by the time I graduated and gained 16 pounds.

Oh, good Lord!! You GAINED 16 lbs. while in school?!?! I was hoping that getting away from my cubicle and desk job would help me shed some lbs. while in school?!?!?

We have a nurse who wears white scrubs and white underwear and you can definitely see her white underwear.

I wear white Gloria Vanderbuilt stretch jeans. Actually, Victoria's Secret makes a nice white jean too. You cannot see through denim.

I agree about the skin-colored undies. OR (A blast from the past) if you are concerned that your pants are see-through in spite of your best efforts... white panty hose.

The basic rule is monochromic beneath the pants so that there is no demarcation between the gluteus and the hamstrings, if you catch my drift.

Oh I did the white pantyhose thing up until I graduated...not only did it solve the see-through issue, it also made me look thinner.

I wear White Swan as part of my school uniform. And skin-colored underwear.

Exactamente!!! White underwear will not work especially if you are dark skinned. I agree with either the white panty hose or some granny panties in skin tone.

I wore flesh colored underwear all through school and you could not see my underwear. One of my classmates, on the other hand, decided to wear her brightest, hot pink thong underwear on more than one occasion. She's the same one who wore a dress for our pinnin ceremony, naked legs (i.e. no pantyhose), and when she sat in the front row with ankles crossed, the entire auditorium was able to see right up her dress. Nice.

Ya, tell me about it. One of the RNs that USED to work here wore thongs all the time with her white pants. Talk about tacky. Didn't bother her one bit though.
