Help / suggestions getting back into nursing

Published

I graduated with my ADN, RN degree in 1999. I worked for 3 years in the NICU/well baby nursery. I LOVED what I did!!! I got pg and we decided for me to stay home with our children. So I did not keep my liscense up. It is now under the status "lapsed". The last expiration date on my license was Oct '03. Our youngest is going to be 4 in April, so we are "done" having kids now. I am getting the "itch" to get back into nursing. I REALLY miss it. :o( But I'm looking into starting back to get my BSN now so that by the time she starts kindergarten (fall '11) I will be ready to go back into the field. ;o) My question is, does anyone know of a program that is RN to BSN where I could start with a lapsed license? When I first let my license lapse, all you had to do was pay the renewal fee to get your license back. In time now, they have changed the requirements that you have to take a "refresher" course to reinstate your license. I just hate to waste the money to take a refresher course AND do a BSN program on top of that. I would love to know if there is a BSN program that would serve as both a refresher and BSN degree? Thanks for ANY help that anyone would be able to share with me!! :o)
