help plz cervix funneling

hi im currently 33 weeks pregnant and have been put on bedrest sice 26 weeks. My cervix is funneling and and continues to shorten, first was 2.7 and having contractions then the next visit 2.3 and now today 1.9. i was told i would have to get steroid shots . but nothing was done. i got sent home and told if i get pain or water breaks to go straight to hospital.. WHY no SHOTS im worried my baby might be born soon and not so healthy.. or can i last til 40 weeks funneling????????
