Hi all,

I'm looking for some guidance and help. I am an Irish mental health nurse from Ireland. I have 8 years experience in the area of community mental health, acute inpatient, Clinical Nurse specialists and Forensic health nursing.

I have applied through CGFNS since January 2018 to evaluate my qualifications. I am still awaiting a result of what I need to do further. I plan to apply to the Florida Nursing board to gain experience in the United States.

Is there any international nurses that could tell me if they have gone through the whole NCLEX process? And how long does it take?

really at a loose end here and not sure what to expect.

thanks so much for your help,

Eire22

If you are a Registered Mental Nurse but not a State Registered Nurse (unless those designations are outdated) there may not be an equivalent in the US. You would have better luck in western Canada where there are Registered Psychiatric Nurses. You would have better luck getting reciprocity. Good luck.

January to now is a long time for CGFNS to be doing their evaluation on your transcripts. I would be asking to speak to someone higher up because after 12 months you will be expected to pay CGFNS again
