Hi all,
I hope someone can help me. I graduate in December from Arkansas State University as Registered Nurse. I grew up in Missouri and plan to move back as soon as I graduate. I did not intend to move back so I applied to test for an Arkansas license. I heard that my best bet is to take boards, get my Arkansas license, then endorse them to Missouri. I am wanting to move as soon as possible because I don't think it would be fair to start working here in Arkansas and take advantage of the hospital providing orientation only to leave after my 8 weeks. My question is how long does it take to get your license as soon as you pass boards? Once I get them in Arkansas, how long does it take to move them to Missouri? Last I heard, Missouri was not a compact state, is that true? Is there anything that I can do now, (fingerprints or anything) to speed up the process?
Thank you,
Cynthia

I really wish I knew your answers, but am still a student myself and not planning on doing any moving once I graduate. I know a couple of classmates that are and I believe they were planning on taking their boards here, then working 6 mos. or a year and then transferring.
I'd suggest you call the MO State BON directly. Here's the website:

Best wishes to you and welcome back to MO!!

You are correct, Missouri is not a compact state. Probably get your Ak. license, then apply for licensure in Missouri. Good luck!
