HELP ! This will be my third time. Let me bore you with details. I have been a LPN for 18 yrs, I finished RN school Jan. 2007 (avg. student). I ran and took my boards in Feb. had 265 Q's. got results back and had near passing on everything, but failed.
Took Kaplan and found it not very helpful since all questions can not be answered with assessment or implementation. BUT went ahead and took boards again in Nov. 2007. Had 75 Q's and did use Kaplan statgery when stuck on questions. I thanked God all the way home I was so happy just knew I had nailed it. And then BAM, the news I failed and had below passing on some, above on one and near on others.
It has taking me over a year to get the nerve to think about trying again, but need more then just my families "oh just take it again we know you can pass it".
I choose to do Suzeanne's plan, it just sounded so much more personal then others, bought the book and just started and NOW she's not doing it anymore, WOW. I just can't seem to get this studying off the ground I feel like I have waited so long.
Does anyone out there feel my pain ! :chair:
I forgot I want to take it the end of April.

Practise questions, make sure you understand what the questions are asking. Read the rationales

I can relate to how you feel. I finished nursing school in May 2007, took the nclex and failed with 265 questions. Got bummed and procrastinated, but retook it in July 2008 and failed once again with another 265 questions. Was going to take it again asap, but had another baby in November and didn't need more stress before he was born. So I just retook it again last Wednesday with yet ANOTHER 265 questions. But this time....I PASSED! Tests and me don't go well....I know the information if asked in person....not that this is an excuse...just a fyi. Besides all the studying I did in the past, I reviewed with Mosby's RN-NCLEX flash cards. I always told my family that I needed to do it for ME not for anyone else.
You can do it! Take a deep breath, relax, don't "read into" the questions, and most of all believe in YOURSELF.
