hello friends,
I have encountered a big problem with this issue. I have to submit an application for RN licence in GA and I have just come to a dead end. My current employer does not have a facility where they can notary public the employment verification letter. Has someone come across this situation and how did you overcome it. I am feeling stressed on top of preparing for the nclex exam. I realize that even nurses from other states have the same problem and hence I am posting this thread in GA forum. I completed my education in the UK and over here the employers do not notarise this types of documents. However, I can take this signed document to a notary public and get it notarised but I am not sure if that is an option. please help me and guide me as to what i should do. all your comments are greatly appreciated.
thank you

Do you have mobile notaries? I had a notary person come to my job to notarize the form. I just had to pay an extra fee for them drive over there...

Does the HR dept where you work have a notary? If not, go to a bank. They always have one. I don't think an employer has to be the notary - the form just needs to be notarized. A Notary, unless I'm incorrect, doesn't verify anything other than you are the person the document relates to and usually they ask for a photo ID.
Doesn't the HR person releasing the record have to sign in front of notary? I always thought that because I read the wording and it says: "sworn in front of me" so I don't think any notary will take that as a valid signature I'd not signed in front of notary. I don't know. This is really frustrating but I really appreciate all your replies and please let it keep coming.
