You should go speak with a nursing advisor at your prospective nursing campus. I am sure someone can give you detailed help. You should take only required related courses over to improve your nursing GPA.

i agree with r (kerry) n, it would be a great idea to talk to an adviser at school they can usually point you in the right direction. i am currently trying to get into nursing school myself it is really hard!!!! really competitive you have to have a strong gpa to even have a change i have a 3.9 and that not even good enough!!! but i have had to take some classes over again, if you get a better grade in the class after you take it over the better grade will override the one that you had. hope this helps!!! keep up the good work i know is hard but i know it will be worth it!!!
I know what you mean nursing programs are very competitive everyone is on their on, well mostly. I have a 3.7 GPA and i passed Micro,Psych, A&P 1 and2 with an "A" on the first time no retaking. I was not always so focus and driven but one day early in my college career I came to realization that I have one life to live and I hold the key to my life success and failure. Ever since then I have been on a mission to be the best, try my best, to achieve my goal of becoming a nurse. So, do not give up because I am witness of hard work. I will be starting one the top ADN programs in my state.

2.0 isn't going to get you into anything, sadly. In my area, the minimum requirement is 2.5 to apply. For acceptance, it's something like 3.2, 3.3.
You're english still needs a little work, but it's great that you're putting in the effort. You just need to spend a little more time improving. How devoted are you to the RN route? In your situation, it may be more reasonable to start out with a CNA or LPN route. I don't think CNA requires formal college beyond the scope of the program itself. It'll give you some working experience and time to familiarize yourself with the field and work on your skills.
If you have your heart set on the RN path, you're going to have to retake most of your prereqs. And it's going to take a lot of time and devotion on your part. But if its truly what you want, then don't let that stop you.
