I found out last night about a nursing student assistance program run by the state of Oklahoma. It's part of the Physician Manpower Training Commission. Here's what I know: it will help with LPN, ADN, BSN or MSN degrees as long as program is accredited (don't know if it just needs state accreditation or NLN - probably state.) You must have been accepted into a program before applying. There are matching scholarship loans if you have a facility helping you and non-matching. For every year you receive assistance, you commit to working 1 year in Oklahoma anywhere except physician's offices, private duty practice, research, federal facilities...
You can find more info and an application at http://www.pmtc.ok.gov
I was told that you must have everything filled in correctly and completely or the application will be trashed and you will have no 2nd chances. Application deadline is June 29.
Hope this helps somebody!
