Hello all I recently received my license after accepting the Stipulated Agreement from the CA BRN. Literally in my hand on Christmas Eve! Well I have to have my Mental and Physical eval done to be compliant as far as my Stipulations. Does anyone know if I can have my Physical done by my primary care Dr? Also I have to do the Psych Eval and don't know where to find a list in North OC of approved Dr's for that. Anyone happen to know where I can find them or is it just a Dr in good standing? How much do the UA's usually cost and how often roughly do you have to do them? I'm usually able to find stuff but my goodness this is all new and I want to make sure to not drop the ball. Thanks in advance I'm so glad to have the support of you wonderful people. Nurses Rock!

Hey Gizelle22,

I am in a similar situation as you. I was denied by the BRN in May and signed the waiver. I took the NCLEX in June 2014 and got the good pop up. I've continued to check Pearson and have still gotten the good pop up. Did you get the good pop up? Also, how did the BRN notify you of passing the exam? Did they send you a license in the mail after getting your settlement paperwork was signed by the BRN. If you could quickly outline the timeline of your process it would help me SO MUCH. Thank you very much.

Hi RN 198811 sorry didn't know you posted. Sure no problem. Ok tested in June the 6th I believe got my stipulated agreement July 27th then sent it back to attorney general and the board received it August 4th on November 22nd I received a letter that the BRN had approved it all on Nov 19th and they sent me my paperwork. It said that my info would be sent on to the licensing dept to continue the process and if my file was complete and I had passed my license would be active on Dec 19th. If I had not passed licensing would tell me or if I hadnt testes I could go ahead and set it up with Pearson. My license posted on Dec 19th at about 9am my stipulations didn't show on there till later in the day. I received my actual license in my hand on Dec 24th Christmas Eve it was pretty cool. You should be almost done we tested in the same month. Oh yeah I did get the good pop up about 30 min after testing it was fast. I totally think it's acurate it's never been wrong for the mtie people I know that have tested and some passed and some didn't. Have you received you agreement and all that stuff? Any ?s at all feel free

Hi Gizelle22,

Thank you so much for outlining your story for me. It really put me at ease. I was freaking out earlier because I wasn't sure if I had passed my NCLEX when I got that vague letter from the BRN that didn't confirm if I had failed or passed haha. Yes I did receive my signed agreement and according to your story, I should be receiving my license on January 19th! My paperwork with the BRN has been complete for quite some time now so I'm just hoping for no random delays. Thanks so much again for the assurance. It makes me feel so much better. This process has been very tough on us, but I know that we'll get through it. In the future I really want to spearhead a moment to change the appeal process for future nurses who are applying for an RN license. The process needs to be a bit more streamlined. All we want to do is help those who are in need of assistance. It doesn't make sense that we shouldn't be allowed to do so for making a mistake or two in the past. I can honestly say that this whole experience has made me grow tremendously as a person. I'll make sure to keep you updated. Thanks Gizelle22. I wish you the best of luck moving forward.

Absolutely it has been my pleasure and yeah I agree this process really need to be looked at and not just shove everyone in this bubble. I mean we get the same standard stuff as someone who diverted meds on the clock and as serious as a criminal history is expunged or not I dont think they should be the same. As soon as you get your pre-orientation packet start doing the stuff it asks for like another lifescan. This is going to cost us like if you have to do UA's the testing is like $60 each time and you never know how many times a month that is as well as $15- $25 collection fee. I dont even have an RN job yet to pay for it all lol. Still all in all I have faith all will be good because dang it we made it and we are RN's!!! This to shall pass and its only temporary

Hi guys, I was just wondering how the Job Search is going? Have you had trouble finding a job with a restricted or probationary license?

Hi Gizelle22 I am in the process of negotiating a settlement with the BRN. What documents show up online with your license? Is it only the stipulated agreement or are there other court documents attached to it? I am trying to find out what future employers see when they look up my license. Thanks, congrats on getting your license!

Hi 3rdeyeRN,

If you google "california board of nursing stipulated agreements" you can see what they post on line. It is pretty much court documents and all, they go into detail about the circumstances surronding your case. There are plenty of these cases online to read.
