HELP! i need and want to go TO U.S.A asap!

hi i am an rn here i he philippines and basically the reason why i finished my course and so eager to finish my course and be a registered nurse is because i really want to work and stay in america with my love one as wel as to help my parents in their living. i know there are known ways like passing the nclex wud be my priority after i passed the local, but i guess it wasnt yet my time to be a usrn cus despite of the knowledge and effort i did, i failed my first nclex attempt. i thought of wat to do next..but really i just want to know from all of you guys whose actually in the states already or in the process of working out your papers to be in the states and be a nurse..i just want to know the details how can i work, stay for good, get a visa (whatever visa is for nurses), and live there for good. ..im really desperate to know..i was even thinking if theres a hospital or an employer who hires filipino rns here and bring to the states for a work..is there something like that? is there a way how can i go there asap this year..please inform me fellow nurses..help me go and work in the states (california) by this year 2007. please. il appreciate andtake all ur advices as a big help. thank you:nurse:

basically, you have to pass the nclex rn exam and as soon as you have proof of passing it you find an employer willing to petition for you. nowadays, most just petition and not necessarily sponsor. your employer will petitition for you and your immigration lawyer or their lawyer files the i-140 for you and for them.

but nothing can be filed for you even though there's an employer willing to petition for you until you passed the nclex exam (or cg exam) and never sign for an agency here when you still haven't passed any exams yet as nothing can be done for you anyway until you passed either exams. you will just get tied-up w/ them w/ nothing happening.

so, for now you really have to focus on reviewing for your nclex and nothing else. nothing can be done and filed for you w/o that.

after you passed the nclex, next step would be ielts or toefl and visascreen certification.

If you do not have a tourist visa now you cannot go to the US and even if you have one you cannot file an Adj. of Status and EAD since we are in retrogression. Consular processing is the only route that can be done right now until retrogression is lifted and no one knows when that will be but most are speculating that it would be somewhere in the middle of the year or the latter parts of the year. But either way, retrogression or not and what ever route (AOS or CP) that can be done; nothing can be done if you haven't passed the NCLEX yet.

This just re-enforces that you should focus on passing that exam and nothing else.

yeah, ur right..the nclex and ielts really is the first step for me to get there huh?... im just desperate, i was even hoping of being there there this year. but ofcourse no one knows wat can happen 2007 has just started. but thanks for the advice. i think its best to "focus in passing the nclex" that wud be my turning point. im praying hard for it,cus hopefully,god willing il take the nclex and hopefully pass it now this year...btw, u said eventhough theres an employer willing to petition,if i havent passed the nclex yet the employer cant petition me? also my friend..if i may ask..wats a "i-140"?? also, about the visa screen,wats a visa screen?...do u mean that an nclex-ielts passer isnt done yet with the application without the visa screen?thanks so much for helping me out. god will truly bless you lawrence:saint:

A requirement of being offered a job as an RN in the US is either passing of CGFNS exam or the NCLEX-RN exam. It is needed for the petitioning process to b started for a nurse, and no way around that.

For you to work in the US, you will also need to get a Visa Screen Certificate from CGFNS, and that cannot be issued until you have passed the English exams and one of the two nursing exams.

The I-140 is the initial petition that is submitted by an employer. Once that is approved and the visa bill is paid, then you go onto the next step.

Again, please take the time to read the stickies at the top of the International Forum, there is much onformation there that you need to have.

There are no fast ways of getting to the US to work at any time, even when there are visas.

yes, proof of passing nclex or cgfns (if applicable) is a req't for them to petition you per uscis. so, you see nothing can be done for you if you haven't passed either exam. visa screen certificate is also needed.
