Hi everyone,
I'm a Registered Nurse moving to Jupiter in about 3 months and I'm just beginning to job search. I specialize in HIV/AIDS medical management, however I am willing to look in other fields, even hospital nursing again.
I would love to hear from fellow nurses what the pay scales are in the area, which hospitals/agencies are good to work for, etc., instead of just reading the want ads in the Palm Beach Post.
Thank you!
Heather

hi heather
i live a little further south, so i don't know how much that i can help. i did want to welcome you to the sunshine state!!!!
the only hospital that i know about (b/c a friend works there is st. mary's). it is a tenet hospital (which i don't like), but i believe it is the only one around that is union. try the florida nursing spectrum - it is a free magazine that we receive down here, but try their online site.
good luck in your move and finding a new job!!!

Hi Heather,
I just joined so I hope you are still checking in on this...I live in Palm Beach Gardens which is just south of Jupiter ( I work in Juno Beach which borders Jupiter) Why don't you check out Jupiter Medical Center. It is a great hospital that is currently expanding. I don't know what specialty you are in but it should have lots to offer. I too, am originally from MA........prepare yourself FLorida pays MUCH less than New England....much less than most places in fact. That's the price you pay for living in sunny FL. If I can help you any further let me know.
Thank you everyone! I'm considering Hospice of Palm Beach and possibly JFK medical center- any thoughts?

I have heard that Hospice is the place to work. Good luck with everything.

Heather welcome to Palm Beah County..I work for Hospice of Palm Beach County and love my job. Good benefits, and the pay, for me ,. is better than I made in Missouri 4 years ago. However the cost of living is outrageous. Good luck. By the way HPBC has an inpatient unit at JFK as well as 5 other locations.

Welcome to my town! I live in Jupiter and bought a house here last year, it's the best place in South FL to live. Close enough to the madness, but out of it so you can chose when you want to play.
Jupiter Medical Center is a very nice hospital, St. Marys is a T1 and busy hospital with a decent amount of gunshot wounds, I've heard JFK is nice as well, but it's about 20-30 from Jupiter.
