Hi All.
I'm studying my RN via correspondence in OZ and am having such a hard time with the mental health unit.
I have had to watch a 17 minute youtube video and make a care plan based on what I think from the video:confused:
The "patient" is 32, has history of depression and admitted to hospital after suicide attempt by way of overdosing on antidepressants and alcohol. She is a daily user of alcohol and says she's an occasional smoker of cannabis.
She has had two children taken from her care due to her addictive and destructive habits.
She works at a restaurant and mainly only socialises with colleagues from work.
There is very little by way of social/family/partner support.
I've listed my 4 main problem/issues as 1. Disturbance of mood. 2. Ineffective coping. 3. Grief and loss. 4. Drug and alcohol abuse.
Now my problem is I need help with interventions, rationale and evaluation........
Please if there is someone out there who can help me, I would be ever so grateful:yeah:
Cheers all, kayofoz

Have you got a nursing diagnosis textbook? That might be really helpful in structuring some of your care plan and pointing you in the right direction.
