help!!! long island nursing programs

Published

I need some help in locating a nursing school in long island that does have you wait on some waiting list until a spot opens up. I also need one where there are so much restrictions. Like some programs require you to take a lot of pre requisites. I'm gonna be 31 and I want to become a nurse i'm tired waiting

Does anyone know of any online practical nursing programs.

As far as I know, there are no on line LPN programs. VEEB is a vocational school for LPNs. I remember hearing that Nassau Community College may have an LPN program as well. If you are willing to travel to Queens, LaGuardia Community College may also be an option because they do require most of the same pre and co-requisites for their RN program.

Depending on where on LI you live, there's BOCES in Suffolk County. I graduated from the Bellport campus in 1998. I believe there are others in Riverhead, Northport and Brentwood. It is a vocational program and the pre-req is an interview and a pre-test.

Suffolk BOCES test is in a little more that two weeks. If you're not signed up by now you're not taking it. The next test is in May 2009 for September entrance. Nelson I suggest you take the prep course
