HELP! Interview for NICU III coming up!

hey all.

just recently graduated in may. i have worked at a pediatric clinic for 4 1/2 yrs (just transitioned to the rn role in july). i also recently had an internship in a level iii nicu end of spring during my senior internship rotation. i am so passionate about neonatal nursing care and would do anything to get a job in the nicu.

i have an interview lined up for a university hospital in chicago (yippeee) and i could not be more nervous. they normally do not accept rn's without 1-2 years experience, but i suppose my persistence paid off:)

i am looking for any advice that i can get to really wow them.

i also recently accepted a med surg position at a nearby hospital (due to my difficulty finding a hospital job), and i am supposed to start orientation in two weeks. i am afraid that my nicu interview i am going on this tuesday will not offer me the position before i start this new job. is it appropriate to notify the nicu interviewer of my situation, or should i just keep my mouth shut and hope they offer me the position before i start this new job?!

thanks in advance!

I wouldn't say anything in your interview. If they don't offer the NICU job right away then start the job you have, you can always quit. Not the best thing to do you may need that hospital later for a job. Hopefully it all works out before you start.

I wouldnt say anything either...just wait it out and see..
