HElP I JUST TOOK THE NCLEX rN FOR THE 2ND TIME AND IT SAID "RESULTS ON HOLD"

Published

I took the nclex rn 3 months ago and i had 243 questions and failed. This time i took the nclex rn again and it shut off at 75 questions!! Im so nervous...do this mean i passed or failed? Anybody been through this before. The first time i failed it took me straight to the cc page this.

The "results on hold" pop up means it could go either way (same goes for any number of questions). Torture, I know! Here's hoping for good news soon! :)

The "Results on Hold" means that they need to make sure that everything about the exam was done right, so they'll go through your taking of the exam to make sure that you didn't somehow compromise the integrity of the exam and once they're satisfied that all is OK, they'll release the results, whatever it may be and then you'll be able to do the PVT.

While no one can be sure on this, I'll offer that my *personal* opinion is it's more likely you passed. And it has ABSOLUTELY ZERO to do with the PVT.

Here's my thinking: The first time you tested, you got all (or virtually all) the questions before the computer decided you had been below the passing standard long enough you couldn't pass the test. You were done, failed.

THIS time, it shut off at 75 questions. That means that either you did SO VERY poorly that at the minimum number of questions, the computer knew there was no way you were going to pass, regardless of how many more questions it gave. OR (and I think this more likely, based on your first attempt) you nailed it: no point in giving you more questions, you were always enough above passing standard you passed at the minimum.

Of course, I can't know for certain. It just isn't terribly likely that after a failure at 265 questions you went SO wrong with your studies you failed dramatically this time, know what I mean?

At any rate, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :)

Thanks!! its still saying "results on Hold". I called pearson today and they guy told me that i should be able to see my results on 8am Wednesday morning ( after i pay $8) of course. Im so nervous because I really feel like the questions this time was not hard and im freaking myself out thinking well waht if i was in the low level questions (i did of course have a LOT of sata questions, 2 drag and drops, 1 EKG and 1 math) because i feel like what other reason would they place me on hold. the first time it didnt even take 5 minutes after i got out of the testing center to take me to the credit card page. the last 2 questions i remember was the drag and drop then a priority question was the last one

Congratulations!
