Hello guyz,Happy Holiday I just want to know what are the taxes that are being deducted in NY nurse???

One word: ALOT!!!

Especially when you're single with no dependants. I get a little more than a THIRD of my paycheck deducted for taxes. Something like $24,00 for a a 63K salary....

Life's tough in the big city! =)

Average taxes are about 30 percent for someone without any deductions, etc. And that is for anyplace, except states that do not have state tax, but their salaries are usually lower.

This is one thing to take into consideration, just because the salary is higher, the amount of taxes also becomes higher. Your goal is to focus on how much that you will be taking home from working someplace, not on the total salary each month. You may find that by working in a smaller city, your expenses are less, and your salary may be less, but your actual take home at the end of the year will be more, especially if your rent is lower too.

But taken in the context of working overseas vs. working in NY, you are still going to be making more in one day than you did in a month at home. I know that is what has happened with my Thai students that are now here.

If you do not have any deductions it will. If it is not taken then, you will still be responsible for it, plus a penalty if you are late in paying it.

Most of you are putting way too much effort into worrying about taxes, if you were in Europe, it would be about 50% in most countries. Pay in NY is higher than many other areas, so I do not understand what all of this worry is about the taxes.

Don't you have taxes in your home country that you need to pay?
