Help with Friedman Family Assessment Model???

Published

I am in grad school and in my Family & Community class we have to do an assessment on a family using the Friedman Family Assessment Model (Long Form). I have been unable to find a link online that has this assessment form. All of the links take me to a boook that I can purchase that has the form, but no links to just the assessment form. Can anyone help???

Hi-

I used Family Nursing: Research, Theory, and Practice by M. Friedman, V. Bowden, and E. Jones. It has a step-by-step guide to the Friedman long form with examples and case studies. It was very useful. I purchased mine from Amazon.

Let me know if you need a genogram or ecomap. I found templates for both online.

If you can get your hands on a print version of Journal of Family Nursing, Vol. 9, No. 2, you will find both long and short forms in the appendices. It's from 2003, so maybe a library or ordering just that copy of the journal?

could you please help me with a genogram/template?

Is this a family that you know? Do you know if they'll be comfortable with you asking personal questions regarding income, religion, etc.? Will you be doing an assessment of the home environment?

Can anyone please help me w/the Friedman Family Assessment (Short Form)???? I am in my last class, Community Health Nursing. I believe that I can do this project w/an example. I just don't have an example right now. I have looked into getting the book "Family Nursing: Research, Theory, and Practice" by M. Friedman, V. Bowden, and E. Jones; no one has the book though. My family assessment paper is due on Wednesday 5/28/08. I've even looked into the libraries about getting the Journal of Family Nursing, Vol. 9, No. 2 which is suppose to have some examples of the short & long forms. UofL's health science library & Jewish Hospital's supposedly have them but I can't get a hold of them until Tuesday w/this being Memorial Day weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

HELP!!!!!!! Does anyone have Family Nursing: Research, Theory, and Practice book?? If so, could you scan/email me the copies of p595(its suppose to be a sample of the Friedman short form family assessment?? I can't get my hands on that book or the Journal of Nursing article. Please help!!!!

Thanks

go43: Read the PM I just sent you. You're in luck- I may be able to help you.

I am also needing help with this. I am to use the short form and am looking for an example of a completed assessment. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

georgia- I'm sorry, but I was only able to help go43ah, because she lives by me, and was able to borrow the book. Neither of us could find the form online, but if you PM her, she may be able to scan it and email it to you via your profile. If you get the book, there is a case study with an example of an assessment using the long form. Don't worry- you shouldn't need an example. It's pretty simple and self-explanatory.
