Could anyone please provide me the website(that way I see what it looks like) of the Saunders book that everyone's talking about, i.e. the one that's recommended for the Susanne's plan? I believe there are various versions. Thank you:mad:
I also wanted to add that I have Saunders edition 2, and i know the third one is the same thing! Because when I purchased the 3rd one, I looked through it and to my amazement, it was the exact same content with a different cover. So I'm wondering which one to get. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but the content is different as well as the questions. And we are speaking of the RN book, which is now in its 4th edition, the third edition is about five years old and the revised third edition came out February, 2006----so that makes it two years old for that and the question format has changed quite a bit and the new style questions are included on the CD, you may not notice it much in the book, but there are additional chapter, but you will see it on the CD.
You always want the latest edition when possible as they would not have come out with the same thing again if there were not significant changes and improvements. Even with the revised third edition, it came out in color where before it was just black and white for most of it.
The second and third edition(I guess the one from 5 years ago, it was in 2006 when I bought the third edition) had the exact same wording, it was the same book with a different cover...the questions were the same and everything... luckily I was able to take it back.

I compared the 3rd and 4th editions--totally different.
Suzanne, there are 4 different books in the Saunders NCLEX line up. I was also looking at getting the books on strategies and alternative formats. Will I need those along with the 4th edition?
Thanks!
Wierd, I SWEAR to you that the 2nd and 3rd edition I had were the same, lol! :chuckle I bought them both at the college book store a year apart and was able to get my money back because I showed the cashier how they were exactly the same, I mean every word was the same but the cover was different but it really was 2nd/3rd, I was disappointed.
I also bought the third edition at my school bookstore in August. When I saw the 2005 print date, I checked online and found out that the 4th ed was about to come out. I took it back to the bookstore and waited until Christmas. A classmate has the 3rd edition and I am glad I waited for the 4th.

Get only the one book, that is all that is used for my program if that is what you are going to be using. No reason to get anything else.
Save your money.:wink2:
Then there was an issue with the copies that you had. The second edition is actually more than 6 years old or even longer. The third edition came out and then a revised third edition later on in February 2006. The 4th edition came out in November, 2007.
There were actually new chapters inserted in the revised third edition from the earlier copy.
Could be that someone changed your copy. But if one that came out in 2005, that was the old third edition and very outdated.
The format of the questions has changed considerably and that may be more apparent on the CD. But there are definite differences between the different versions.

Yap!i agree with you coz'i have d same edition as yours. Before, the only saunders i have was the 2nd edition(w/c is the green book)then when i plan to use suzanne's plan before, i bought the new edition w/c is the 3rd edition(blue book that is with color).I compared them and they were exactly the same except for some minimal alternate type questionw/c is not much really.but if you're gonna take this year, much better i think if u get 4th edition to be safe and updated.
Goodluck...
